The Road of Books of the Millennium of Lithuania through Lithuania

This is a book gifting, culture and education event having started in February and taking place during the course of the commemorative year of 2009, dedicated for the commemoration of the Millennium of Lithuania, during which the news about the Millennium shall be spread all over Lithuania. A symbolic trip shall be organized through all Lithuanian lands, visiting several hundred Lithuanian cities and towns in order to commemorate the Millennium of Lithuania, other important events and famous people together and also in order to gift the books of “The Road of Books of the Millennium of Lithuania via Lithuania”. Participants of “The Road of Books of the Millennium of Lithuania through Lithuania”, which shall arrive by bibliobus from Vilnius, local municipal representatives, mayors, elders, art amateurs, the intelligentsia, students and fellow-countrymen shall take part in the events. Mementos shall be distributed, whereas the winners of the organized competitions for historical knowledge shall be granted special prizes of the Millennium of Lithuania. And, books, of course! One will have an opportunity to browse through a book or buy one. During the course of the events we shall commemorate and honour the Millennium of Lithuania.
